Adult Education/GED

General Information:  

• Classes are offered FREE due to generous funding by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC)
• Classes are available throughout 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Cooke, and Fannin Counties
• Day and evening class options are available (see below for the current schedule)
• We offer both in-person and online (Zoom) classes
• Classes are offered throughout the whole year
• Classes are added or schedules modified to meet students' needs
• New students are accepted at any time 

Eligibility for Services:

• Are at least 17 years of age
• Function below the high school level
• Lack a high school credential
• Seek to improve basic reading, writing, language, and math skills
• Have a valid and unexpired form of identification:
  • U.S. REAL DL or State Issued ID
  • U.S. Birth Certificate
  • U.S. Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • Employment Authorization Card
  • Machine Readable Immigrant Visa (with temporary I-551 language/stamp)
  • Temporary I-551 Stamp (on foreign passport or I-94/I-94A)
  • Tribal Indian ID Card

Registration/Enrollment Process

• Complete our  or call 903-463-8784 to get started
• Meet with an Enrollment Specialist to complete registration process (Approximately 2.5 hours)
  • Complete demographic paperwork
  • Discuss education and career goals
  • Take a placement test in reading and math (not pass or fail)

Support Services for Students

• Access to digital learning platforms 
• GED test vouchers (must meet certain requirements)
• Food assistance
• Gas vouchers (available if taking in-person classes)
• Laptop loan program
• Student labs- Writing, Math, Science, and Library
• Personal counseling
